Travolta Family unit Calls Baby Benjamin Their 'New Beginning'
John Travolta and Kelly Preston debut baby son.
Jan. 12, 2011 — -- John Travolta and Kelly Preston say that the birth of their new baby son Benjamin is "goose egg less than a miracle" and "a new beginning" for the family unit, following the loss of their son Jett two years agone.
"For us it'southward been uplifting," Travolta told People mag. "He's given the business firm a renewed spirit and purpose. He'southward brought united states of america a new first, and his presence has brought joy to all the people who take wanted the best for us."
Benjamin Travolta was built-in on Nov. 23, 2010, in Florida. His parents report he is salubrious and doing beautifully since birth.
The first photos of Benjamin, every bit seen in the magazine, show the family unit dressed in all white and the parents property their newborn and smiling from ear to ear.
"They went through such a public tragedy losing Jett at age xvi and then later came the news of Kelly's pregnancy, and information technology just did and then much to buoy their spirits of course they tell people that Jett is always with them and will never leave them," said People Magazine editor Suzanne Zuckerman.
The couple had been trying to have some other baby for years, even earlier sixteen-year-old Jett died from a seizure-related injury in 2009, while the family unit was vacationing in the Bahamas.
"I don't think there is whatsoever time that we don't recall virtually him," Travolta told People. "All our memories are continued to Jett over the last 18 years -- our photos, our homes, our travel. Information technology's not something that will ever exit usa."
Family is everything to this couple; Travolta said he even changes diapers and sings to baby Benjamin who sleeps side by side to his mother for easy admission to breast feeding. In 2005, they talked about the importance of children in an interview with ABC News.
"I think if you give your kids equally much love, you know, you can never spoil them with too much love," Preston said.
"I remember I knew what love was before, but I remember I didn't accept a clue until I had children with Kelly," Travolta said.
'Silent Birth' for Benjamin Travolta
Preston is 48, and Travolta is 56. After trying for three years, Preston said she was "completely diddled away" by her skillful luck, just hasn't revealed if she had whatsoever help from fertility treatments.
Travolta and Preston are Scientologists, and they incorporated some of those practices in the delivery room, where Benjamin was built-in by C-department.
"We had a silent birth, with no spoken words as much every bit possible that was performed in a at-home and caring surroundings," Preston told People.
Preston said she took a few extra precautions to stay safe during the pregnancy such as relaxing at the spa, eating organic foods and of course, holding off on all urges to sky dive for nine months.
In November, the couple announced the birth of eight-pound, 3-ounce Benjamin on their website:
"Nosotros are overjoyed to announce the inflow of our son, Ella's babe brother, Benjamin Travolta. Born Nov. 23, 2010 in Florida, Benjamin is healthy and doing beautifully. Thank you for the congratulations messages and wishes -- we are across happy near the newest addition to our family," the family said in the message.
